The neatest cake eating kid

I am not sure how she did it but she managed to stay pretty clean while eating her cake.

She was really only interested in the frosting.

For her cake, I made Jane a snowman cake and she seemed to like it.

She got a bit confused when we told her to blow out the candles - she reached for it instead.

Happy Birthday to Janie!

Janie turned 1 on Friday and so after the kids went to see Santa we had a party for her at the house. She doesn't look thrilled in this picture because she didn't want to wear the hat.

I think she thought it would mess up her hair.

So she gave it to Grandaddy to wear - Charlotte thought that was pretty funny.

More Santa

Even the girls cousins came to enjoy Santa! Emily enjoyed talking to Santa..

Santa is coming to town!

Yesterday Santa came to visit the kids in the neighborhood. Janie had no problem going right to him and telling him everything she wants for Christmas (for her sake, I hope he knows what "da da ga ga ba ba" means).


Cha Cha on the other hand, still isn't sure about the man in the big red suit. At least this year we got her to stand next to him for a picture.

Charlotte asked for a candy cane for Christmas and was so excited when he told here there was a bunch of candy canes at the goodie table she could have!

After the lighting of the lights in Gruene, we found ourselves happily standing next to a big oak tree, looking up at the sky. Did we hear sleigh bells?

Growing Up

Two years ago, we went to Gruene, a little historic town south of Austin. Back then, it was just Charlotte, Mommy, and Daddy. This weekend we went back, and here's a look at how Mommy and Cha Cha look today.

O Christmas Tree

Last year I was just a few weeks old for my first Christmas. But I don't remember much except the sweet, sweet taste of milk.
Mmm...milk.
Anyway, this year I'm all about Christmas. Mommy and Daddy put the Christmas tree on a table to keep it away from me. But I still love looking at (and playing with) the low-hanging ornaments on our beautiful tree. Whee!

The Killer Santa Hat Strikes Again!

Do you remember from last year, how the Santa hat attacked me? This year I was ready and in control!

But then it did it again. Right over my face!

But I fought it off. Now that I'm three, I'm not going to let a mean Santa hat scare me away!

I saw Daddy Hanging Christmas Lights

Daddy, Mommy, and PopPop got out the day after Thanksgiving to hang Christmas lights. Daddy stood on ladders while Mommy and PopPop stood around and told jokes.

(Somebody called my Daddy the Buttless Wonder. I wonder why?)

Thanksgiving Fishing!

On Thanksgiving Day, before we had our big meal, Daddy and PopPop took me...FISHING!
Now at first I was a little shy about fishing. But Daddy bought me a beautiful Barbie fishing pole.
And then he cast in the water, and my PopPop cast, and before I knew it,
I had caught FIVE FISH! Two bass and three bluegill. I am a super-fisherwoman.
(And I even threw one of the fish back, all by myself!)
