Dinner at the Longhorn Cafe

Nanny and PopPop and ZaZa have to go home tomorrow. So we all went out to the Louisiana Longhorn Cafe in downtown Round Rock to have great food and lots of fun. I ate everything I usually don't eat --cornbread and onion rings. I even ate chicken patties shaped like a smiley face!

Punching myself in the jaw

Nobody told me how hard being born would be. I have to yell before I eat, I have to yell before my diaper is changed, clothes are scratchy and it's cold outside. But the greatest indignity of all is having no control over my muscles. Here I am punching myself in the face!

Jane's Baptism

Jane was baptized on December 28, the Feast of the Holy Innocents. She was perfectly holy, slept all the way through the baptism, and was enjoyed by everyone at church.

PopPop and Aunt ZaZa

Jane here. My PopPop does a good job of taking care of me. I've been pretty fussy lately, but PopPop doesn't mind. He just cuddles me, feeds me, and tries to get me to burp. Aunt ZaZa is looking on wondering when she'll get her turn to hold me.

Merry Christmas!

I had the best Christmas EVER! I got a table and chairs, lots of books, and most importantly, I got THREE Dora dolls. This doll sings and dances -- it's the most fun I've ever had! Even my PopPop and Daddy think it's fun!

My Nanna and I went to the park a few days ago and had lots of fun together. Look in the web albums for more photos!

Nanna and Jane

My Nanna does a good job of getting me to burp.

Rah rah ree, part 2!

Charlotte writing here. My new beautiful sister, baby Jane, sleeps so much. But even in her sleep she's practicing to be a cheerleader. I just hope she doesn't kick ME in the knee!

Beautiful Leaves

Mommy and Daddy say it's autumn here, and all the leaves are beautiful, red and gold. My second grandma, Nanna, shows me one of the prettiest leaves I've ever seen. Autumn is special and I have brought hundreds of leaves into the house.

His hat is eating my head!

Ok. Everything nice I said in the earlier post is crap.
Santa's hat tried to eat my head. Enough said -- he is EVIL!

Cha Cha Claus

I've been trying to get used to Santa Claus. I still think he's creepy and the whole 'bowl full of jelly' think suggests that he eats children. But in the spirit of the holiday, I tried on his hat and put on a Christmas tree shirt. I must admit, the hat is warm and comfy and the shirt makes my heart feel full. So maybe there's something to this whole Santa Claus thing after all.

Drinking problem

My Mommy and Daddy say I have a drinking problem. I didn't believe them, but once they brought this photo out, I saw they're right. Is there a twelve-step program for dribbling?

Cuddle time with my namesake

Here I am with my namesake, J.J., which stands for "Just Jane." She's a very cuddly grandmother and I miss her shoulder already.

New Photos in the Jane Album

New photos in the Jane album. Go here for pictures!

Santa? Bah Humbug!

Santa is scary. He's a big bad old man with a scary long beard that might have squirrels nesting in it. And that red fur suit -- he's hiding something behind the fur, in that bowl full of jelly. As you can see, I'm trying to escape his evil clutches!

Smoochie Smoochie

Ok. I have to admit. I LOVE my baby sister. Baby Jane is so soft and she smells nice and she's very cuddly. I love to kiss her head and try to pick her up by her ears. She's my favorite baby doll in the whole house.

The Whitikids, together at last!

It's about time that the Whitikids show up and do their thing. Charlotte and Jane, two beautiful girls out on the town. Or...in the hospital, depending on your point of view. Somebody sent over the wonderful balloon that said "It's a Girl!" It should have said, "It's Two Girls, Together at Last" but that's probably too much to write on a balloon.

Baby Washerwoman

Hi, I'm Jane and this is my first blog post. I'm only pretending to be asleep in this picture. I'm really posing for my Daddy. Don't you think I look cute in my little hat? I wore this all day long at the hospital and it was so cute and warm. Hats are coming back, and I'm going to be at the forefront of every new fashion trend!

The Bouncing Baby Burrito

Doesn't she look like a burrito? This is Jane, approx 8 hours old. She's not afraid to sleep standing up.

Let's get physical

I've decided it is time for me to get into shape so I started working out. Here I am on the black, crazy, bike, walking kind of thing. I climbed up there but it didn't do anything. Daddy says I'm too small to make it work right and that I'm pefect just like I am. I think this whole excercise thing is for the birds.

I'm so cute

Sunday we went to church so I got to get all dressed up. Mom was impressed that I didn't put a hole in my tights and that I was willing to wear my hat.

4th Trimester

Mommy is now in her 4th trimester. I don't know what this means exactly but I do know mom is about as wide as our pretty Christmas tree. She went to see her doctor today and he says that baby Jane should come this week and if she doesn't then he will make her come on Monday.

No Baby Sister Yet

Everyone at daycare has been asking -- where's Baby Jane? I just point to my stomach. I haven't seen my little sister yet. Everyone seems to think she's around, but I don't think she is. Mommy, what did you do with Baby Jane?

I kissed a boy!

At my great-grandmother Reva's birthday party last night, I ran up and kissed a boy. He's my second cousin Luke (son of my Mom's cousin Stacia), and we're both two, so it seemed just right to give him a great big kiss!

Christmas decorations, but no baby yet!

We spent Friday after Thanksgiving doing Christmas decorations. But no signs of my baby sister yet. Is Mommy nesting? Or is she just hanging ornaments? Only time will tell.
