OFF WE GO!

This is our last blog entry from Ireland. In a new adventure, we're flying away from Greystones, County Wicklow tomorrow to experience the joys of Round Rock, County Williamson, Texas. Erin will be there next week, and I'll be working from London for a few weeks before heading her way.

It's been nearly three years and we're missing Ireland already. But we'll have no end of joy and happiness in Texas, and new adventures await!

As I'm taking the laptop to London to use the webcam with my daughter, there won't be many photos of Charlotte posted for the next few weeks. So I thought to leave all of you with this one.

Irish friends, we love you and will miss you. American friends and family, here we come!

Irish Cowgirl?

Charlotte is excited about moving to Texas so she got this cowboy hat. However, as you can see, she is still a bit Irish!

Charlotte's First Pier Visit

As you all know by now, this is our last week in Ireland. We're packing up and moving back to the States. Erin starts her new job in Austin on 2nd July, while Brian will work from London for a few weeks and then join Erin and Charlotte in Austin.

But to commerate our last week in Ireland, we took Charlotte to the Dun Laoghaire pier. This is the first place we explored when we came to Ireland, and it's been the site of many discussions, long walks holding hands, enjoyable people watching, and ice cream. It was a very good day and we all enjoyed it. Here are some photos from our last visit and our first visit.

Beans, Beans the musical fruit

Charlotte has learned how to make fun noises with her mouth. Here is a video of her making tooting noises with the couch.

Birthday Cake

Today is Brian's birthday and so I made him a cake. Charlotte thinks it is for her and if she is good, Brian just might be willing to share with her.

Other Crib problems

The other problem with Charlotte and her crib is that she can now use the bars to get to a standing position and she likes to chew on the crib. I'm not sure if it is yummy, but she seems to think so.

I was framed!

Here is Charlotte looking like she is behind bars, but really she is just in her crib. It isn't her favorite place to be when she is awake but every now and then she is okay to play when she wakes up in the mornings.

Charlotte moves along

Can Charlotte crawl or can't she? Watch the video!

Duck Duck Goose

Charlotte isn't afraid of chewing on things. She'll chew on your fingers. She'll chew on her toes. And as you can see, she'll chew on a duck. It's part of the bathtime ritual -- she must chew on something or she'll spend the time splashing and trying to swim away.

SIck Baby

One of the best things about Charlotte is that even when she is sick she can laugh, smile, and play. She has had a stomach bug the past few days but you wouldn't know it by looking at her. She is able to enjoy time with her dad as you can see from this photo. Daddy is always good at making her laugh.

The Godfather

This past weekend Charlotte got to meet her Godfather, Ben Kellard. When the Godfather showed her milk, it was an offer she couldn't refuse.

Crawling

Charlotte isn't crawling yet but she is getting close! She tries to use her feet sometimes as you can see from above. And other times she forgets to use her hands but any now she is going to have it all figured out and be all over the place!

Watch out salmon!

This weekend we went to the Blackwater River so Brian could get in a day of salmon fishing. The weather was beautiful so Cha Cha and I went out with him and hung out in the sun. We spent the weekend at the Blackwater Lodge which is run by a very nice married couple. Glenda Powell is one of the owners and is the number one ranked woman fly fisher person in the world. She took Brian out to a few spots on the river and gave him lessons. He didn't get catch a salmon but had a good day fishing. Be sure to check out all the pictures in the web album .

I'm an Oompa Loompa

Charlotte is really beginning to enjoy solid foods - even if she wears more than she eats! Here she is having chicken and veggies and looking rather orange like an Oompa Loompa.
