Labor Day Fun

Today, the neighborhood had a party at the park for Labor day. The girls had a great time with all the fun and exciting things at the park. It started with a bounce house...

A naptime performance

Today, while she should have been taking a nap, Brian walked in on Charlotte giving a ballet dance recital to her toys and her piggy bank. She changed out of her clothes and into a leotard and tutu; lined up her toys and piggy bank on the bed and was practicing her dancing to the music that was playing. Not quite as restful as a nap, but pretty darn cute to walk in on.

Jane: Adorable or Animal?

What's is this? It's a 2.5lb block of cheese. Why is it on the blog? Well, this is what happens when Jane is left alone with the 2.5lb block of cheese. That's right -- those divots on the right side -- those are bite marks. In 30 seconds Jane took three huge bites out of a block of cheese. Then then proceeded to eat even more cheese for dinner.

Did we mention that cheese is her favorite food?

But it has us wondering...is Jane part mouse? Or perhaps...French? Or even from Wisconsin? She loves cheese more than any Texan I've ever met.

So...unless you want it to go missing...when Jane comes for dinner...LOCK UP YOUR CHEESE!

My Cake for Daddy

Even though I've been home sick for a long time, I still have enough energy to do things. And today I decided to bake a cake for Daddy. I admit, Mom did the baking part, since ovens are TOO HOT, but I mixed in the bowl and put the M&Ms on, so I did the first and last parts, which everyone knows are the most important parts!

I know it's hard to tell, but it's a STAR cake -- my favorite. And after I baked it, we all sat down and ate it up.

Maybe you can see...my Daddy is very proud of me. I like it when I do good things for my Mommy and Daddy. And cake is the best thing I can ever make.

First Cool Day since April

Today was the first cool day since April. This morning my Daddy said it was only 78 degrees. So we got out in the backyard and played with water. We have a huge inflatable elephant sprinkler, and buckets, and cups, and bubbles -- when combined become lots and lots of laughter.

But I got very tired. So tired I forgot what I was doing and fell asleep. Here I am...snoring peaceful dreams of fun.

Finally loving oranges

My sister and I have decided, after a long time, that we finally love oranges. Janie likes the tiny little mandarin oranges because they're sweet. And I love the clementines because they're sour.

A tale of two sisters

The other day we were trying to compare the differences between Charlotte at 19 months and Jane today. Here is what we came up with....can you tell the difference?

naptime

Last night was a rough one with the kids. Both were up serveral times and all of us needed naps today.

Here are Charlotte and I "watching a movie".

And then Charlotte wanted the bike back...

Jane was not happy when Charlotte decided she wanted her bike back and started trying to tip it over.

Bike Riding

While Charlotte was playing her game, Jane took over her big sister's bike and wanted to learn how to ride.

I think she liked the bell on the bike the best.

Resting

Running around and playing took it out of Cha Cha and she needed to lay down and take a rest.

Croquet

Last night Charlotte wanted to play croquet, so after dinner Brian got it all set up for her. She was a natural!

Then she figured out she could throw the mallet and had more fun doing that than actually playing the game.

Even Janie wanted to learn to play.

Austin Children's Museum

Jane got invited to a birthday party at the Children's Museum and the kids had a blast playing around. Here are both girls just before going down the slide.

Cha Cha enjoys cooking up some fish in the kitchen there.

The exhibit this time around was "The Big Game" and as you can see, they had some big games. I've never seen connect 4 bigger than the kids playing it.

Sad Excuse for Bloggers

Okay...my sister and I have become sad excuses for bloggers. We've just been having so much fun lately! Starting new schools, learning to swim, playing with cousins, it's been a wonderful summer. We promise to write more when we get a chance!

Love,

Pool Time

Charlotte and Jane have really taken to the pool this summer. Everyday Charlotte asks if we can go to Aunt Tara's to go swimming. Jane enjoys a drink in the shallow end and Charlotte spends most her time floating and kicking aroudn with her ring.
