they grow up so fast...

Janie is now 18 months and is pretty much a total daredevil. She will climb up on just about anything so we thought it was time to get her a big girl bed. This weekend we went out and got her a mattress and the bedding. Brian scanned in some of the flowers from the bedding to print out on adhesive paper for the wall decals. Jane loves it and Charlotte tells me that she wants to sleep in here now too.

Yesterday was Charlotte's big dance recital. As you can see from the class below, none of them are really sure about what to do, but Charlotte does like to wave to all the people.

Charlotte loved every minute (all 2 of them) that she was on stage.

Happy Birthday

It was fun to celebrate Brian's birthday with the girls this year. Charlotte picked out his cake - a mermaid barbie fairy cake - and picked out his present - a DVD. We all had a great time, but I think Cha Cha had the most fun since she got to open the presents and got to sneak a taste of the cake.

Today was parent observation day at dance class. Charlotte and her class gave us a preview of her recital that is coming up in a few weeks. It was pretty entertaining, especailly since none of the kids were doing anything at the same time, nor where they doing what the teacher was doing. Either way, at 3, it was still pretty darn cute!

Happy Mother's Day

For Mother's Day weekend, the girls and I went to Houston while Brian stayed at home to get our hardwood floors installed. Here is Janie and JJ and Charlotte hanging out by the pond (or "the club" as she liked to call it)

Also while out on the farm, Brian and his dad took the girls fishing. They had a great time catching the fish and throwing them back in.

Farmer Kids

While in Nashville, we got to head down to Mt Pleasant and spend the day on Michelle & Joe's farm. Charlotte was so excited to see the baby goats and feed them. Janie was not as impressed but I was pleased she was willing to get in the pen with them.

Of course while in Nasvhille I had to take the girls to Vanderbilt. Charlotte loved running around on alumni lawn and checking everything out. Here she is on her way to the wall and the bookstore to stock up on Vandy goodies (including a cheerleading uniform) GO DORES!

New Friends

A couple of weeks ago, we went to Nashville to visit family and friends. While there, the girls made a new friend, Abby. Ignoring the look on Charlotte's face while trying to get a picture of them together, they all got along great and had a fun afternoon while I got to catch up with a good friend. It was a wonderful afternoon.

Biscuit Brothers

Several weeks ago, we took the girls out to the Austin Family Music Festival and the Biscuit Brother's were there. One of the fun things they had for the kiddos was a musical petting zoo. All the kids got to "pet" the instruments. I think we have a few budding rock stars in the family!
