Crawling

Charlotte isn't crawling yet but she is getting close! She tries to use her feet sometimes as you can see from above. And other times she forgets to use her hands but any now she is going to have it all figured out and be all over the place!

Watch out salmon!

This weekend we went to the Blackwater River so Brian could get in a day of salmon fishing. The weather was beautiful so Cha Cha and I went out with him and hung out in the sun. We spent the weekend at the Blackwater Lodge which is run by a very nice married couple. Glenda Powell is one of the owners and is the number one ranked woman fly fisher person in the world. She took Brian out to a few spots on the river and gave him lessons. He didn't get catch a salmon but had a good day fishing. Be sure to check out all the pictures in the web album .

I'm an Oompa Loompa

Charlotte is really beginning to enjoy solid foods - even if she wears more than she eats! Here she is having chicken and veggies and looking rather orange like an Oompa Loompa.

Carrick-a-Rede

This weekend we headed to Northern Ireland for the sole purpose of visiting Carrick-a-Rede, a rope bridge suspended between two crags that was once used by salmon fishermen -- now a tourist attraction. We had great weather, overcast and calm, so Charlotte decided she wanted to come too. After visiting, seeing nesting birds and rare plants, we drove to the Bushmills distillery for a tour. Unfortunately, Charlotte (and all children under the age of 8) was banned from the tour.

Now, forgive me if I'm out of line, but it seems odd that she was allowed on a rope bridge but not allowed on a distillery tour. But the rope bridge was incredibly safe, and for all I know the distillery tour is horribly dangerous, so perhaps it was for the best.

See more photos in the album -- over on the sidebar.

Glendalough Trip

It was another beautiful day here in Ireland so we took a drive out to Glendalough. Here Brian and Charlotte take a rest to enjoy the view. As you can tell, they both think it is great!

Yummy Carrots

We have been trying to get Charlotte eating more solid foods. Here she is trying carrots for the first time. Brian thinks she looks like she is bleeding and I think she is trying to have a goatee like her dad - we'll let you form your own opinion.

Charlotte at Powerscourt

We took Charlotte on an official outing to Powerscourt Gardens today -- the perfect weather had something to do that that venue choice! And as you can see, we lounged around on the grass for a while -- Charlotte thinks the little violets in the grass are very tasty!

Little Toothies

It's hard to see them, but if you look at her bottom gums, you can see two toothies sticking out!

Charlotte's First Day of School

Cha Cha had her first full day in day care today. They told us that she was very good all day and that she was a pleasure to have around. As you can see, Charlotte got dressed up for the occasion and was the cutest one there!

Fly Fishing

Brian took Charlotte out fly fishing today so she got all dressed up in her fly fishing outfit which included the hat her dad wore when he was a young boy. Both of them looked very cute and the even though no fish were biting, I know the fish were happy to see such a young angler.

Yummy Peeps

Grandaddy intorduced Cha Cha to the wonderful world of the peep. Before mom and I saw what he was doing she has sucked the sugar all off the marshmallow chicken. Surprisingly she wasn't as wired as I would have thought for the rest of the day.
